Terms of Use

Last updated July 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of ecosum.io, operated by Ecosum LLC (“Ecosum”). By using the site, you agree to these terms.

Estimates, not advice

Our fine calculator and related tools produce estimates for planning purposes, based on publicly reported data and published NYC coefficients. They are not legal, financial, engineering, or compliance advice, and are not a substitute for an official determination by the NYC Department of Buildings or a licensed professional. Building data may be incomplete or change. Always verify figures with the NYC Department of Buildings before making decisions.

No warranty

The site and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or availability. Data is drawn from third-party and government sources we do not control.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ecosum will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decisions made in reliance on estimates or information provided through the site.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site, including attempting to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, or use it to violate any law. Automated or excessive requests to our tools may be rate-limited or blocked.

Intellectual property

The site's content, design, and tools are owned by Ecosum or its licensors and may not be copied or redistributed without permission. Underlying government data (e.g., NYC Open Data) is subject to the City of New York's own terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
